Getting data in
- Where does weight come from?
- From any scale that writes to Apple Health (Withings, Eufy, Renpho and the like), once you have connected Health in Settings. Health wakes the app when a new reading lands, so it is usually there before you open the app. You can also type a weight on the Weight screen; typed weights are written back to Health.
- My scale's reading has not shown up.
- Open the Health app and check the reading is there first; if the scale's own app has not synced, nothing can read it. Then Settings → Apple Health → Sync now. If the weight is in Health and still missing here, make sure FitMaxx has permission to read Body Mass under Health → Sharing → Apps.
- Sleep, steps, heart rate, workouts
- All read from Apple Health, so a watch or any app that writes to Health counts. FitMaxx never grades any of them; it states the change over eight weeks.
- Food logged in another app
- Daily calorie and macro totals other apps write to Health are read and shown as one row on the Food tab, so the day's total is right whichever app you logged in.
- Reading a lab report
- Blood work → Read a lab report PDF, then pick the file from Files. The results come back as the report prints them, for you to check and correct before saving. The biological-age estimate needs a date of birth in Settings and is offered from 18. It is an estimate from a published formula, not a diagnosis.
Fasting
- Is there a limit on how long a fast can be?
- No. The timer runs until you end it. The app never nudges you to fast longer or to beat a previous fast, and it never will.
- What happens when I end a fast?
- The app offers to log the meal that breaks it. It is an offer, not a redirect; "Not now" is right there.
Account and data
- How do I delete my account?
- Settings → Delete my account. Every record, photo and PDF tied to the account is removed from the server at once. Apple Health keeps what it already has, because that lives on your phone. This cannot be undone.
- Can I get my data out?
- Email danoph@gmail.com from the address on your account and you will get an export of everything stored.
- Does anything leave the server?
- A meal photo or a lab PDF goes to Anthropic's Claude to be read, when you use those features, and a barcode number is looked up in Open Food Facts. Nothing else. The privacy policy is the full list.
- Reminders
- Off until you switch them on in Settings → Reminders. They are planned on the phone; no server ever knows a reminder exists. If iOS has notifications off for the app, Settings names the switch to flip.
